If you own a scanner, use it to scan those items that you just can't put into a photograph. For example, scan CD covers. Scan newspaper articles. Scan children's class work and art work. You can scan these items onto acid free paper, or you can save them put them onto photo paper, cropping them to the size you want to attach in your scrapbook.

Happy Scrapping
Audrey
audreyoka@cox.net
http://www.scrapping-made-simple.com

You can use strips of paper to create borders on scrapbook pages. Simply cut strips of paper the exact length and width of your paper and attach. The effect makes the page look like it’s framed, and all you’ve done is use some of your scrap paper. Be careful to use either solid colors or patterns that can look the same vertical and horizontal.

One suggestion I often offer is to create a theme based on yours or your children's daily activities. For example, do you have a child in a school sport, or school activity? Take photos throughout the school year of this activity and create a scrapbook based on this theme.

No kids? What do you enjoy doing? Do you enjoy hiking? I have taken tons of photos from my hikes. I snap trees, birds and flowers as I walk along the trail. Do you enjoy cooking? Make a few recipe scrapbook and offer them as gifts.

Create a scrapbook based on something that is going on in your life today.

Happy Scrapping,

Audrey
audreyoka@cox.net
http://www.scrapping-made-simple.com

If you very gently run the dental floss under the photo, you should be able to lift the photo off the page.'

When I attach photos to my scrapbooks, I use adhesive tabs, usually one tab in each of the 4 corners of the photo.
There is a phrase that goes something like this "you never know what you don't know until you learn it". I've always smiled at that phrase, knowing how much there is out there that I have not yet learned.

In the past I've been incredibly fortunate. I had a wonderful friend who designed and then hosted my websites. I would email him changes and like magic, they appeared.

This website, I'm on my own. Patty Gale suggested I buy XSitePro and it was a great choice. I have used, or tried to use Dreamweaver in the past and became frustrated. I could only do very things. Anything beyond basic required codes and scripts that I didn't have. Patty has designed some incredible sites, my favorite is her Grandma's Kitchen site. If you have a favorite recipe, stop by Patty's site and add it to her datebase.

This week I began a free online course in Search Engine Optimization. I had read several articles. I had been to several forums. But none of it was making sense. No two people shared the same thoughts. It was all quite confusting. Then I read about this free class. http://www.gnc-web-creations.com/seo-optimization.htm I am on lesson four and it's all making sense. I can not recommend this class enough. The instructors name is Cricket. Cricket also teaches an Internet Marketing class, again free. I have just begun that class and will post again my thoughts. If you've always wanted to understand Search Engine Optimization, sign up for the class. You go at your own pace, with no deadlines.

Until next time...

Audrey :)
audreyoka@cox.net
http://www.scrapping-made-simple.com

I love both learning from others and also sharing my own stories in the hopes they might help someone. I am asked how did I come to begin a scrapbooking business.

The answer actually goes back to 1983. This was the year my oldest daughter was born. It was that year that I ventured into direct sales. Direct sales has been a part of my life since 1983.

About 5 years ago, a friend of mine invited me to a party at her home. She had just begun selling scrapbook supplies and this was her first party. I actually had no interest in scrapbooking but said yes, as she was my friend and I wanted to support her.

I was actually amazed at how the pages came together. With just a few supplies several pages could be put together. Now came the test. Could "I" do this? It looked great and easy when someone else did it, but the real test was could I do it?

I fell in love with scrapbooking. I bought two albums, one for each of my children and set about choosing photos to put into each album. The girls loved their albums which caused me to create even more albums.

I met a woman who loved to use the word "passion" She believes that in order to succeed in business you must be passionate about what you are selling. Having been in direct sales for so many years, I was not sure I agreed with her. I loved direct sales, but was never passionate about any product. Her belief that passion was important led me to join Leaving Prints, a direct sales company whose product line is scrapbooking materials.

And so it began.....

Until next time,

Audrey :)
audreyoka@cox.net
http://www.scrapping-made-simple.com
